Background

Ran Pich Sotheavatey is a very smart and well-behaved student. She’s been an ACE student since Term 1, 2019. Studying at ACE had always been something she desired, because she had heard a lot about the school and believed that she would improve her English a lot by attending ACE. In a parent-teacher meeting, both her mum and dad were very proud to have such an intelligent daughter, and they both thanked ACE for its high quality language training and for the opportunity to meet with Vatey’s class teacher to obtain detailed information about her academic development.

Hi! My name’s Vatey, and I’m 11 years old. I’m a Young Learners’ Program (YLP) Level 11 student this term (Term 2, 2019). I’m in 6th grade at my Khmer school. Before I started at ACE, I was not very good at writing or speaking English. At that time, I studied English at a school near ACE Siem Reap, and had always wanted to take classes at ACE. I really wished to improve my speaking skills, and I’d heard that ACE had very skillful teachers.

Finally, I got a chance to study at ACE. At first, I was really nervous and shy, so I didn’t want to talk to anyone. After a week, I made two friends. After that, I started speaking more. My speaking became better and better, and I was confident enough to join the YL Speech Contest. My teacher, Ratana Chheang, has encouraged me to participate in other important events.

I love the ACE T-shirt I have, and I wear it to most classes at ACE. I got it because I enrolled for one-year at ACE. It is comfortable to wear. In my closet, I have many clothes, but I still choose to wear my ACE T-shirt. It’s my favourite colour. I hope to get different kinds of ACE T-shirts in the future.
