ACE Wins Two Awards for Pioneering CSR Initiatives

ACE staff accept two awards at the 15th Annual Global CSR Summit & Awards in Da Nang, Vietnam

It has been another outstanding year for the Australian Centre for Education (ACE) in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). ACE received two prizes at the 15th Annual CSR Global Summit & Awards, which was held in late August in Da Nang, Vietnam

The awards were in the Best Community Programme and Excellence in Provision of Literacy & Education categories. It is the third time in the last 4 years ACE has been recognized for its contribution to education and youth development in Cambodia and the region.

“CSR is an integral part of ACE’s annual community engagement strategy and priority social initiatives to promote hygiene at rural schools, environmental protection, and access to education. Not only do stakeholders benefit from the immediate impacts of these CSR initiatives, but they have a transformative impact on the mindsets of the thousands of people involved, building awareness and shared knowledge through professional and family networks” said Mao Sreng, Country Director of ACE and IDP Education in Cambodia.

In 2013, Sreng established the ACE Social Committee as a structured mechanism coordinate annual events, promoting projects such as access to quality education throughout Cambodia, through scholarships, teacher training programs, student wellbeing and diversity drives, as well as broader campaigns to provide emergency relief and enhance environmental sustainability in remote areas.

ACE was established by IDP Education in 1992, the world leader in international education and student placement services with 157 offices in more than 60 countries. In Cambodia, IDP helps students realise their academic and career dreams through access to world-class education opportunities in Cambodia and overseas. IDP is also a co-owner of the IELTS test.

ACE is a leading provider of English Language Teaching (ELT) services across Southeast Asia, with 100,000 enrolments every year, from ages 7 to 50 and representing 15 nationalities –  at ACE’s 6 campuses in Cambodia.

In 2021, ACE became the first school outside Europe to win the prestigious Language Educator of the Year prize, and last year over 40 judges from around the world chose ACE in the Digital Innovation – Learning category at the PIEoneer Awards in London, international education’s leading excellence and recognition event.

This year, ACE is nominated in two categories, in which ACE/IDP Country Director Mao Sreng is nominated for Outstanding Contribution to the International Education Industry Award for his leadership in the education sector for the past 23 years. ACE hopes to bring back from London more PIEoneer awards.

To connect even further with the community and help its students achieve their academic goals, ACE will soon launch a 7th campus in Siem Reap.
