IDP Education (Cambodia) and SmartKids International School have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to expand students’ access to IELTS information, registration and support services, while strengthening English language development and preparing students for future study, work and international opportunities.
The MOU was signed by Mr. MAO Sreng, Chairman of the Boards and Director of IDP Education (Cambodia), ACE and IDP IELTS, and Ms. KHUONG Sinamalaine, Deputy Director of SmartKids International School.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to helping students develop the English language skills and confidence needed to pursue opportunities beyond graduation, including further education, employment and international experiences.
“Our goal is to encourage our students to be ambitious and to see beyond graduation. We want them to think not only about completing their studies, but also about the opportunities they can pursue afterwards and the skills they need to achieve their goals,” said Ms. KHUONG Sinamalaine.
“Strong English proficiency can open doors to further study, careers and international experiences. Through this partnership with IDP IELTS, we hope to give our students greater opportunities to strengthen their English, demonstrate their proficiency and build the confidence to pursue their ambitions both locally and internationally,” she added.
Mr. MAO Sreng said the partnership would support students in developing skills that can connect them with opportunities in an increasingly international environment.
“This partnership with SmartKids International School reflects our shared commitment to strengthening English development and preparing students for future opportunities. English is an essential skill that can connect young people to international education, employment and wider global opportunities,” he said.
As part of the partnership, students will have access to IELTS registration and related support and services within the school.
IELTS assesses four key English language skills—Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking—and is recognised by more than 13,500 organisations worldwide, including universities, employers, professional bodies and immigration authorities.
The test is widely used by people seeking to demonstrate their English proficiency for education, employment, professional registration and migration purposes.
For students considering international education, English proficiency can be an important part of preparing for their chosen pathway. IELTS provides a recognised measure of English ability, while IDP’s education services can help students explore study options and navigate their international education journey.
Established in 1969, IDP has more than five decades of experience supporting students pursuing international education. Today, IDP connects students with education opportunities across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Ireland, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
The partnership therefore brings together two complementary priorities: developing students’ English proficiency and helping them understand how those skills can support their future ambitions.
Rather than waiting until graduation to consider their next steps, students can begin preparing earlier by strengthening their English, understanding international requirements and building the confidence to pursue opportunities beyond the classroom.
