ACE Community Mobilizes to Help Displaced Children Resume Learning

By I’mACE Magazine Editorial Team

The recent Cambodia–Thailand border clashes have had a devastating impact on children’s education. According to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS), more than 600 public schools have been forced to close, directly affecting over 150,000 students and displacing more than 6,500 teachers across border provinces.

These statistics are more than numbers; they represent children without books, families without shelter, and futures suddenly placed on hold.

Mr. Sreng Mao, Country Director of IDP Education and the Australian Centre for Education (ACE), stressed the critical need to uphold education during times of crisis.

“ACE staff, teachers, alumni, students and other generous individuals are working to help children return to learning as quickly as possible. That’s why timely support from the public, partners, and donors is crucial to restore access to education and help them rebuild their futures.”

ACE, at the forefront of its corporate social responsibility efforts, together with our staff, students, alumni, families, and partners, has launched the Education Relief Effort—an initiative to support displaced children return to school.

The public and partners are encouraged to join forces and contribute by August 9, helping us meet urgent needs on the ground.

This relief effort focuses on three critical priorities: emergency food relief, educational materials, and essential support for school reintegration.

School locations will be confirmed by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MOEYS) and local authorities.

More information and how to get involved, please refer to the ACE Charity Facebook page.

So far, the relief effort has been joined by the Australian Centre for Education (ACE), Save the Children, the Australian Chamber of Commerce, AusCam Education Academy, and others coming onboard to support this critical mission.

Every donation—no matter the amount—has the power to bring a child back to school. Let’s show the true spirit of unity, compassion, and collective leadership.
