Bon Pka Samaki
By Puthy Pann, Marketing Officer

ACE Student Ambassadors are not only passionate, hard-working and caring, but they also have positive attitudes. Their role at ACE is so significant, and they are famous for organising many charitable events.
Their main function is helping students to participate in all ACE events, represent ACE, and encourage students to get involved with the many projects held each year. For example, last year on 7th December one of the biggest events that has been celebrated at ACE, the ACE Christmas Celebration, saw about 2000 students participate. This event was made possible by the ACE Student Ambassadors. Another important event that needs mentioning is the ACE Khmer New Year Celebration which raised $2715. Ambassadors donated this money to Kontha Bopha Hospital, and approximately 800 students participated in the event.
These are just some of the events which have been made successful by the enthusiastic and professional ACE Student Ambassadors. Even more important, these young and dynamic individuals have recently assisted in a special campaign which helps them to strengthen skills and develop new ones. This event, or Bonn Pkar Samaki, was created to raise funds for the construction of a ceremonial hall at Phnom Pehn’s Chhouk Va Pagoda.
For the Bonn Pkar Samaki, one activity the ambassadors organised was a movie night held on 22nd August from 4pm to 7.30pm. More than 200 participants joined the event with the aim of raising money for the construction of the hall.
Ambassadors have also organised many other activities for the Bon Pkar Samaki, such as the ACE class information sessions. For this activity, students gave a brief talk regarding the pagoda fund raiser. They also showed posters and gave students an invitation letter to join the event. Ambassadors hope that through these efforts more funds can be raised for the construction of the hall.
Funds raised were given to the pagoda on the morning of Sunday, 30th August by ACE staff, students and their families. The pagoda provided lunch to express gratitude for everybody’s efforts. Students who joined the procession at the pagoda had the chance to get involved with the many fun activities available. These included opportunities to win prizes that were sponsored by ACE.
Being able to be an ACE Student Ambassador is awesome, so get yourself ready for the opportunity to work with us!
