ACE Launches its Business English Program
in Siem Reap

Our small team worked like crazy in the days leading up to the event.  There were banners to be made, people to invite and gift bags to be put together. It took teams of teachers and admin staff some head scratching to find addresses and hand deliver invitations.  The Park Hyatt Hotel staff were amazing and helped us squeeze an oversized backdrop through their doors and passages into the function room.  But eventually, everything was ready.

The atmosphere in the newly refurbished Hyatt was magical.  Guests from Siem Reap’s business community were greeted by drinks in the courtyard while waiting to be ushered to their seats in the ‘Gallery’.  The Business English launch in Siem Reap had just become an event!

The 90 plus guests enjoyed the talks by Paul Cooke and Richard Waddell describing the benefits of studying English in ACE’s Business English Program.  Osman Khawaja from EGBOK mission shared some real-life examples of the impact ACE has had in their student’s job placements.  There was a palpable excitement in the air as guests visited the displays on the way to be served canapés.  Interest had been piqued, and staff were on hand to answer the many questions being asked.

By 9.30pm we were exhausted but so happy with the way the evening turned out.  The Hyatt did a great job and helped us pack up the banners and bits and pieces that we needed to get back to ACE.  A number of businesses have sent their staff to do the Business English course as a result of the launch.
