Phnom Penh, 31 March 2026 — The Australian International School Phnom Penh (AISPP) has partnered with IDP Education Cambodia to provide Cambodian students with clearer pathways to higher education abroad. This strategic partnership aims to strengthen Cambodia’s international education landscape and support the country’s long-term human capital development.

The collaboration was formalized on Tuesday with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Mr. Men Sopheak, AISPP Board Member, and Mr. Mao Sreng, Country Director of IDP Education and the Australian Centre for Education (ACE). The agreement will guide students and families through structured advice on study abroad opportunities, university selection, and visa applications.

Demand for overseas education is rising among Cambodian students, particularly in Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States. Through this partnership, AISPP students can access IDP’s full range of services, including expert counseling, university placement assistance, and support with visas. With connections to over 1,000 schools and universities worldwide and as co-owner of IELTS, the world’s leading English language test, IDP brings extensive experience in global education.

Mr. Men Sopheak highlighted the value of combining AISPP’s International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum with IDP’s global network.

“Our IB programme develops critical thinking and a global outlook. This partnership ensures our students and families are well-prepared for academic success both in Cambodia and overseas," he said.

Mr. Mao Sreng noted the partnership’s role in helping students make informed decisions.

“This MoU allows students and parents to tap into IDP’s expertise from counseling and university placement to visa guidance, enabling them to confidently pursue world-class education opportunities abroad," he stated.

Education experts say collaborations between international schools and global education providers are increasingly important as Cambodia works to cultivate a skilled, globally competitive workforce. AISPP’s strong IB programme, combined with IDP’s international reach, is expected to benefit not only individual students but also broader national priorities, including workforce development, knowledge transfer, and enhanced international engagement.
