IELTS Cambodia Official Test Centre Signs MoU with SIS International School

Phnom Penh, Cambodia: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the IELTS Cambodia Official Test Centre at IDP Education and SIS International School was signed at SIS International School in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Thursday 14 March 2019.

The MoU allows for SIS International School to become an IELTS Test Venue under the authority of the IELTS Cambodia Official Test Centre.

“We are pleased to be welcoming SIS International School as an IELTS Test Venue,” said Mr Sreng Mao, Country Director at IELTS Cambodia. “This MoU reflects the growing awareness of the importance of benchmarking English language capacity for study and career advancement at leading education institutions in Cambodia. We look forward to working together with SIS International School to grow the number of students taking the IELTS test.”

“SIS International School has been leading in English language training and Khmer general education for almost 17 years. Our GEP and high school graduates have gone to prominent universities both in Cambodia and abroad” said Dr. Ngoeun Phalline Pothida, General Director at SIS International School. “Thus, in response to the growing number of students who wish to pursue their study abroad and at international schools, we decided to provide IELTS training and testing at SIS. With the IELTS score from the test sat at SIS, students can directly enrol at any schools or apply for visas or jobs both locally and internationally.”

IELTS is the world’s most popular high stakes English language test with over 3 million tests taken each year and over 10,000 institutions worldwide – including universities, schools, employers, immigration authorities and professional bodies – recognising IELTS as a benchmark of English language capacity. IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment.

The MoU was signed at 10am at SIS International School, Street 336, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
