Children’s Program to Diploma Certificate

By Helene Kouch, ACE Student

The Australian Centre for Education (ACE) is an initiative of IDP Education (Cambodia) that has been operating in Cambodia in 1992. ACE’s main goal is to provide high quality English language training. ACE’s programs are flexible, and therefore, enable students to pause and then resume their part-time studies at the school, so students can learn at their own pace.

Helene’s Journey

My journey with ACE began in 2009. Over ten wonderful years, my English has improved from one level to the next. I’ve progressed from the Children’s Program (CP) to the Diploma Program. The CP introduced me to the world of English, once my parents had decided to send me to ACE. It was a fun learning experience. After I’d graduated from the CP, I moved one step forward into the Young Learners’ (YL) Program. This was where I recognised that my English skills had significantly improved. What I miss most about the YL Program is “Star Reader”, which inspired me to improve my reading skills.

As I progressed through the General English Program (GEP), I prepared for the IELTS test. With hard work and the support of my amazing teachers, I was able to achieve my goals and meet my expectations. So far in the Diploma Program, I’ve completed six courses, among which my favourite is Public Speaking & Debate. This course helped to boost my confidence and my communication skills. In my experience, the Diploma Program is a vehicle for not only more advanced English learning, but also for self-improvement, gaining general knowledge and acquiring skills that are essential for daily life. I’m looking forward to completing even more Diploma courses, as I believe that learning never ends. I strongly believe the quote, “Education is the one thing that no-one can take away from you”. I would like to encourage every single ACE student to keep working hard, to put more effort into learning and to fulfil your life with education.
