Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School

“The unique fact about studying at the Blue Mountains is that all of our degrees come with mandatory internships. In the bachelor degree, there are two paid internships where students can choose to work with our partners in Australia or overseas. The master’s degree comes with one internship.”

“Australia is a great study destination. I can speak for myself; a long time ago, I was an international student as well – I am from Europe – and I chose Australia. I think the lifestyle is great and Australia is a multicultural destination. In terms of safety, I would say that Australia is one of the safest countries to study amongst the big three destinations around the world.”

The Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) has been providing hospitality education since 1991. The school was the first of its kind in Australia when it opened and has grown to be recognised as a leading provider of hospitality degree courses.

For more than 23 years, the Leura campus has developed hospitality degree courses where students live and study in a simulated hotel environment. BMIHMS is Australia’s leading hotel school for hospitality education. The school provides internationally recognised hospitality and business degree courses that are highly respected within the global hotel, restaurant, catering and event management industries.

The students can choose to study an undergraduate Business Degree in International Hotel and Resort Management, or International Event Management. BMIHMS also provides master’s degree programs, which include International Hotel Management and Global Business Management.

The faculty at Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School come from a range of professional backgrounds and all have experience in their chosen fields. Many have extensive hospitality industry experience and bring a wealth of insight and knowledge to the units they teach. Combined with the Blue Mountains student community on both the Leura and Sydney campuses, the students have a dynamic and fun environment to learn in, and they will build new friendships along the way

Leura is situated in the heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park, about an hour’s drive west of Sydney. The Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School, spread out over two hectares of landscaped grounds, has capacity for around 250 students. Sydney Campus, our new non-residential campus, is located right in the heart of the city’s CBD and functions as an executive business centre where 3rd year and postgraduate students complete their studies.

When considering the study option, it is important to take into account the reputation of the institution. It will indicate to an employer the quality of education the student has received. The courses have been designed for those who are looking to change careers and enter into hotel management.

There are six important reasons why BMIHMS
