Meet Tang Chanpisey, ACE Santhor Mok Teacher

Tang Chanpisey

Hello! I was born and grew up in Takhmao Town, Kandal province. Back in 2012, I pursued my higher education at the Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL), majoring in Bachelor of Education. I graduated in 2016. In addition, I am also studying for another degree in Finance and Banking at University of Cambodia, which I will finish in 2017.

Honestly speaking, teaching is a labour of love. I do have great passion for teaching, and I started this teaching career when I was in my second year at IFL. Firstly, I started as a part-time teacher of English until I graduated from IFL, when I began my full-time job. Working at ACE is my second full-time employment; the first one was at American Intercon Institute.

Before I applied to ACE, a few friends of mine, who are ACE teachers, told me a lot about the good working conditions and environment at the school. Having worked at ACE for a short time, I’ve realised that it is not just a rumour but the truth. There is a lively working environment, where everyone is friendly and helpful. Plus, the high technology provided in every classroom helps improve my teaching and students’ learning to ever higher levels. These are the two main reasons why I love working at ACE.

Meet Titheay Ing, ACE Samdech Pan Teacher

Thitheany Ing

Hello, all! I am a new teacher at Samdech Pan Campus. I am originally from Kandal province. I have recently graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages, where I majored in teaching (B. Ed.). After graduation, I worked for a Christian organisation called World Vision Cambodia (WVC) for three months. I explored many avenues to realise my final goal and profession. It was beyond my wildest dreams when I was offered a job at ACE in term 4 of 2016. And now here I am at ACE beginning my new job.

I am very honoured to be a part of ACE. Not only are there excellent facilities and instructional materials but also all the people, including my manager, senior teachers and other colleagues, have inspired me to work with much effort in order to ensure that I am a productive team member. ACE embodies a source of development and education for both students and teachers. This is important for a teacher like me who needs lifelong learning and essential professional development.

Meet Davy Long, ACE Samdech Pan Teacher

Davy Long

Hello! I’m a new teacher at ACE Samdech Pan and fresh from university. I recently graduated and majored in Bachelor of Education in English at Institute of Foreign Languages and International Relations at University of Cambodia. Looking back over my years as a student, I recall that I used to volunteer for some organisations and join youth groups. During my senior year, I took up part-time teaching at English at ASEAN International School. I was there for more than a year.

Being a teacher is a demanding job, yet also a rewarding one for me since I get to inspire many of my students in their English learning journey. I also hope that this career will to some degree, though perhaps not a lot, contribute to Cambodia’s human resources and the future development of the country.

Meet Dam Soksan, ACE Siem Reap Teacher

Dam Soksan

Being a part of the professional teaching staff at ACE has always been my dream since I was a freshman at the Institute of Foreign Languages. I am now proud to say “a dream comes true”. My greatest impression about ACE is the fact that it provides plenty of resources and facilities to effectively and efficiently assist teaching and learning, and improve the quality of the job for both teachers and students. In addition, professional development sessions, workshops and the working environment at ACE have greatly improved my teaching methodology and English skills. I am not only a teacher but also a learner, where I have constantly learned from other professional instructors and dynamic colleagues.

Having been at ACE Siem Reap Campus for more than a term, I have settled in very nicely. I have developed a very strong bond to this place, which I now feel is like my second home. I am so honoured to be here to build a better future for the young generation of Cambodians.

Meet Sereirottana Nhek, ACE Samdech Pan Teacher

Sereirottans Nhek

Hello! I am from Phnom Penh. I majored in education at the Institute of Foreign Languages. After graduation, I earned a position as a part-time teacher at two different schools before joining ACE, which is the most preferable workplace.

Even though I have only two years of experience in this field, which seems hardly enough, I do have my own stance when it comes to teaching. I have built more and more interest in providing knowledge as well as preparing students to adjust to changes for an unexpected future. In addition, I promote and raise awareness of society and its development.

Meet Channea Tom, ACE Samdech Pan Teacher

channea Tom

Greetings! I was born and raised in Kampong Thom Province. In 2016, I earned my Bachelor of Education in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL). In addition to being a university student, I was also an active member of the prestigious IFL Debate Club. I guess my consuming passion for public speaking and debating led to me this teaching career path.

By the time you read this, I would have been working at ACE Samdech Pan Campus for almost three terms. Teaching at Australian Centre for Education (ACE) has been and always will be an enormous privilege for me. It’s such a lovely working environment. Students are hard-working and the classrooms are well-equipped. I really love the strong sense of belonging and diversity of teachers here.

Meet Sok Korng, ACE Santhor Mok Teacher

Sok Korng

Hello, to all “ACE-ers” out there! I am Sok Korng, but you can simply call me Korng. I was born and raised in our capital city, Phnom Penh. I currently hold a Bachelor Degree from BELTEI International University, majoring in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and I’m in my last year, as a senior, pursuing another Bachelor Degree in Information Technology at the Royal University of Phnom Penh.

ACE is my first job. Recently, I focused on exchange programs, and I was a Cambodia Participating Youth of the 43rd Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program. I’m delighted to tell you that my first job is just extraordinary because the environment here at ACE is amazing. The Campus Manager, my co-workers, and all the other staff are so approachable, and they are always friendly and welcome whenever I have any concerns. Honestly, it hasn’t been that long since I started working at ACE, but I am already excited for my future career development. Thank You!!!

Meet Fiona Sloane, ACE Samdech Pan Campus Teacher

Fiona Sloane

Hello, I’m from the UK but I’ve spent the majority of my adult life abroad and have been in Cambodia, on and off, for four years now.

I’ve been teaching English since 2008 and enjoy the places it takes me and the people I’m able to meet through teaching. Although I have had friends and old colleagues work for ACE over the past few years, this is my first term teaching here, so I hope to see you in class soon!

Meet William Smail, ACE Samdech Pan Campus Teacher

William Smail

Hello all, my name’s Will and I’m from the USA. After more than ten years in China, I escaped the freezing temperatures of Beijing and followed my feet to Cambodia. I have yet to regret my decision and I’ve enjoyed learning about the people and all that this culture has to offer.

Originally, I’m from a small town just outside of Buffalo, New York.   The area is famous for chicken wings, blizzards, and fried foods that will kill you before the age of 50. It’s a great little town you might want to visit if you ever find yourself heading to Niagara Falls.

Professionally, I’ve enjoyed many great experiences. I’ve taught the deaf and hard of hearing in lower Manhattan, worked in a huge NYC hotel, served my country in the military and most recently learned the ins and outs of the British national curriculum in Beijing.

These days, I am excited to be part of the ACE family and I look forward to meeting all of you.  Please don’t ever hesitate to say hello or ask for help.
