Over 1,100 People Joined ACE Charity Khmer New Year 2018

This year on 8 April ACE Charity Khmer New Year event reached another level, with activities taking up 4 floors of the ACE Tuol Kork campus. Each floor had a unique experience for the over 1,100 attendees. The half-day event to raise money for charity was organised by the IDP-ACE Social Committee and led by the ACE Student Ambassadors (ASA) and ACE Staff.

On behalf of the IDP-ACE Social Committee, Ms Chendamony Chea said, “We are very pleased with the success of the event as the community was able to come together and celebrate Khmer New Year, have some fun and raise funds for charity.”

On the 1st floor, there was a schedule of performers from traditional Khmer dance to famous singers and bands! The performers included Hin Lida, YPlus, White Band, Tomorrow Band, Adda, The Mustache, Kan Pich, Sam Rocker, Nikki Nikki and DJ Rithy.

The 2nd floor had a range of exhibitors, food, drinks, souvenirs and other kids’ activities to help support the charity. The 3rd floor showcased 6 Cambodian provinces with wall decorations and props to make one feel like they’re travelling throughout the whole country. The 4th floor had rooms with activities and games for attendees to enjoy. The winners received prizes such as backpacks, mugs, Kid City pass, ACE Scholarship, and many other prizes.

One of the ASA’s who helped organise the event, Davongnearyroth Hak, stated, “I had a lot of fun doing the tasks with other ASA’s and volunteers. Everyone had specific responsibilities and that is why the event was such a success.”

The sponsors of the event included IDP Education as a Diamond Sponsor, OPPO as a Silver Sponsor, Holmesglen, Three6, United Knowledge as Bronze Sponsors, MyTEB, Click Printing, Baby Care, Family Printing and Advertising as In-kind Sponsors and lastly it is supported by ACE. All funds raised will be donated to a cause in need.  

Furthermore, the IDP-ACE Country Director, Mr Sreng Mao, appreciated and was very amazed at the successful event and said, “Thank you to everyone who attended the event as it is supporting charity causes in our community. I would also like to thank the teams who worked hard to organise such a large event and lastly to the sponsors and performers for their generosity and support.”
