Record Number of Attendees at the ACE Charity Christmas Edition

For four years in a row, ACE Charity Christmas Edition has been organised by the ACE Student Ambassadors with support from the IDP-ACE Social Committee. This annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) event was held at ACE Tuol Tom Poung campus on Sunday, 24 December 2017 from 3:00-8:00 pm, in order to raise funds for the Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital.

The event hit a record number of attendees with 2,000 (participants, performers, volunteers and staff). The event raised $6,200.00 that will go to the Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital.

ACE Charity Christmas Edition 2017 was a special event with activities to satisfy participants of all ages. The highlight was a new activity where seven classrooms were decorated with the Christmas spirit. There was a room for Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the US, the UK, France and Japan allowing everyone who walks through to feel like they’ve travelled around the world.  Each room had activities, games and city backdrops for photos to be taken.

There was a selfie room, snack and drink rooms throughout the campus, an EDM room filled with dancing students, live concerts, an art room displaying student’s artwork and lucky draw prizes. There was also a special appearance from Santa Clause and the Christmas Angel.

On behalf of the Social Committee Chendamony Chea says, “I’m very pleased with the number of participants and we received lot of positive feedback regarding the decoration of our festive rooms as well as other interesting activities.  Running an event for a good cause fulfils our continuous desire to have a positive impact on the community. Our team is already working together to plan the next ACE charity!”

All the proceeds from ticket and activities sales went to support the life-saving work of the Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospital. The five hospitals around the country have been providing medical assistance since 1991, treating more than 15 million outpatients, 1.5 million hospitalisation, 1.3 million pregnancy controls and 192,897 thousand baby deliveries. We look forward to continuing our CSR work with the upcoming Khmer New Year Charity and various other events through the year,” said Sreng Mao the Country Director of IDP Education.

The organisers from the ACE Student Ambassadors and IDP-ACE Social Committee thank all of the sponsors, who contributed, the participants, performers, volunteers and staff, all who made the event a huge success! Please keep an eye out for our upcoming ACE Charity event which will take place in April. We hope you can join us!
