How to Achieve IELTS 8

By Kunna SotheaVatey EAP 3, ACE Santhor Mok Campus

I’ve been studying at ACE for almost two years and I cannot describe how wonderful the journey has been. After having finished GEP 12 and taking the IELTS, I noticed that my four main skills have improved significantly thanks to proper guidance from teachers and wonderful help from classmates. For my advice on how to get a good score, I suggest practicing the sample tests from the GIL Centre or other available sources. The key to IELTS is knowing the various question types and how to tackle them. Also, vocabulary plays a big part. I recommend keeping a good vocabulary notebook to jot down things you come across in everyday situations, or in class. Make them as what we call “active vocabulary” by using them, incorporating them into your conversations or writings. Remember to have fun while you’re at it and don’t be upset if you can’t get it the first time. Practice makes perfect!
