Representatives from 11 US Education Institutions Met Face-to-Face with over 400 Students

Representatives from 11 US education institutions visited Phnom Penh for the IDP US Education & Scholarship Expo on 8 May 2019 at ACE Tuol Tom Poung campus from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The Expo, which is organised annually by IDP Education (Cambodia), was open to the public with free entry.

This event gave students and their parents the opportunity to meet face-to-face with representatives from a range of US education institutions, including high schools, community colleges and universities, to receive advice and guidance on study options, program outcomes and career opportunities. Students also received information about application preparation, enrolment requirements, scholarships and visa application requirements at the Expo.

“The strong attendance at the Expo this year demonstrates that the US continues to be a desirable study abroad destination for Cambodian students”, said Sreng Mao, Country Director, IDP Education (Cambodia).

Joining the US representatives at the Expo were the Australian Centre for Education (ACE) and the IELTS Cambodia Official Test Centre. Representatives from ACE were there to discuss opportunities to study English to meet the requirements of US education institutions, and IELTS representatives had the new computer-delivered IELTS (CDI) on display for interested students to practice taking the IELTS test.

“The representatives at the Expo were able to meet with over 400 students to provide face-to-face counselling and answer any questions students had. IDP’s expert counsellors were also on-site to advise students”, said Vantak Chheang, Student Placement Manager, IDP Education (Cambodia).

“I attended the Expo to receive information about US universities, as I hope to study in the US. I also wanted to meet with a US Embassy representative to learn more about the visa application process”, said a student from PSIS.

IDP Education is the world’s largest student placement services provider, with over 50 years’ experience and more than 100 offices in over 30 countries worldwide. IDP provides counselling on study programs and enrolment services free of charge to students preparing to study in the US, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the UK and Ireland.
