Victoria University (VU) is known for its industry-focused courses, flexible approach to education, and supportive and culturally diverse learning environment. Our research and international reputation is also regarded as world-class. As one of Australia’s 39 public universities, VU is one of the largest and most culturally diverse institutions in Australia.

VU graduates can be assured that their qualification is awarded by a university with a world-class education system. As the University of Opportunity and Success, we will be open and excellent, creating exceptional value for any student from any background and uplifting the communities in which we operate.VU is one of Australia’s most culturally and socially diverse universities with more than 14,000 international students from 100 countries enrolling with us each year. Our students are attracted by our innovative course offerings that are designed around fit-for-purpose pathways with multiple entry and exit points, including easy transition between vocational and higher education. Being one of six universities in Australia to offer both vocational training (TAFE) and higher education, VU is able to provide attractive pathways from diplomas to degrees across a range of study areas.

VU College, VU’s specialist pathways college, delivers English language courses and Higher Education (HE) Diplomas in business, engineering and information technology. Successful completion of a HE Diploma provides guaranteed entry into the second year of specific bachelor degrees, allowing you to save money while completing your degree in the same duration, with extra support in the first year. In addition to the HE diplomas, many of our certificate and diploma courses are pathways into a bachelor degree, where you can receive credit for completing a TAFE course in business, dermal therapy or nursing. Our practice-integrated learning activities present a rich range of experiences and environments to engage students with practitioners, industry professionals, and in workplace and community settings. This style of learning is offered to students in all of the University’s undergraduate courses. Over the course of our one hundred year history, we have proudly focused on creating education and training opportunities for students in the West of Melbourne and beyond. Our aim is to be a great university of the 21st century. We will provide exceptional value to our students, guiding them to succeed through personalised, flexible and industry relevant learning opportunities. The applied and translational research by our staff and their students, as well as our graduates as employees and citizens, will enhance social and economic outcomes in our heartland. Healthier, smarter and more sustainable communities will result. We have campuses across Melbourne's central and western suburbs (and one in Sydney, too), with purpose-built learning environments and state-of-the-art laboratories. We provide a range of services and facilities to help you get the most out of university life.
