ACE took part in International Children's Book Day (ICBD) hosted at the National Library in Phnom Penh on 4 April. ICBD is a yearly event sponsored by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBYP), an international non-profit organization.

ICBD is celebrated to inspire a love of reading and to call attention to children's books. Founded in 1967, the day is observed on or around Hans
Christian Andersen's birthday, April 2nd. Activities included writing competitions, announcements of book awards and events with authors of children's literature. For ICRD 2015, the International Board on Books for Young People, ACE, and others partnered to assist and conduct this unforgettable day which made it a memorable one.

Reading is the foundation of learning across all crucial subjects. The event was aimed at children and to encourage reading, and promoting readin
g was the primary focus of ACE’s presence at the event.

On International Children Book's Day, ACE renewed its efforts to make reading activities accessible to all children who attended.

ACE student ambassadors and staff joined the ICRD to contribute to all activities and assist students in sharing the white and blue balloons and other fun activities.

ACE’s area included activities that promoted specific reading that can launch children into successful literate learners and readers. The event was also joined by children’s book professionals, and featured book exhibitions, storytelling, games, drama plays, drawing, and competitions. The activity kits were full of creative, cross-curricular activities reflecting a space theme that engaged children of all ages.

With so many activities from which to choose, students had difficulty limiting themselves to just one ac
