Computer-delivered IELTS officially launched at the IELTS Cambodia Official Test Centre

Computer-delivered IELTS (CDI) was officially launched on Saturday 19 January 2019 with the dedicated CDI Lab opened by Her Excellency Tina Redshaw, British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia and Mr Mao Sreng, Country Director of IDP Education Cambodia.

With the first test set to take place on Saturday 26 January 2019 in IDP’s dedicated computer lab, the new option enables test takers to get their results faster (in 5 – 7 days) and to choose from more test dates.

While test takers now have the choice between taking IELTS on computer or paper, the listening, reading and writing test content remains the same, and the speaking test will continue to be face-to-face with a certified and experienced IELTS examiner.

“It’s the first time I’ve heard of the computer-delivered IELTS and I think it’s a fantastic innovation”, said HE Tina Redshaw, British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia. “All of us are just so much more used to using keyboards that IELTS moving into being computer-based is a fantastic innovation and it speeds up the results”.

Mr Mao Sreng, Country Director for IDP Education Cambodia, said the new test experience puts test takers first by offering more test sessions a week and faster results, while still maintaining the trust, integrity and security that is relied upon by the organisations who accept the results.

“Our customers’ feedback from our initial launch in other countries has been that taking the IELTS on a computer, in a quiet test environment in our dedicated computer labs, is helping them feel at ease for their test”, Mr Mao Sreng said.

Computer-delivered IELTS is available at the IELTS Cambodia Official Test Centre at IDP Education at the ACE Toul Kork Campus, # 08, ST. 600 Corner St 307, Sangkat Tuol Kork, Khan Tuol Kork, Phnom Penh.
